For 26 years, I worked as a 911 dispatcher and manager. I know what it means to be the voice of calm during someone else’s worst moment—and how much those moments can stay with you.
During my career, five officers were shot. Three were killed in the line of duty, and two were severely injured, including a very close friend. Finding support afterward was difficult. I tried several therapists, but struggled to find someone who understood the first responder world and the experiences I carried.
That search shaped my desire to help others feel heard and understood.
My move from dispatch into management brought another challenge: learning to work with my ADHD. The pace and urgency of dispatch gave way to paperwork, planning, and competing responsibilities. I had to develop ways to stay organized that worked with my brain and the demands of my role.
Today, I draw on my lived experience to support first responders navigating the impact of difficult experiences, leaders managing demanding responsibilities, and adults with ADHD who want more organization in their everyday lives.
I believe support starts with understanding. My goal is to help you feel less alone, recognize your strengths, and find practical strategies that fit your life.
